Congressman Sanders has been elected to Vermont's sole seat in the House of Representatives eight times as an independent candidate. He has been an outstanding progressive leader, speaking and organizing for all of our issues. He has:

*Fought for a system of national health care, and defended the right of unions to organize and of individual to dissent.
*Opposed privatization of Social Security, Bush's outrageous tax giveaway's to the rich, corporate, and corporate-sponsored, wage depressing “free” trade treaties like NAFTA.
*Supported affordable housing and education opportunities that working families need so desperately, as well as civil rights for all, and a woman's right to choose.
*Argues and voted against the Iraq war, like our own Senator Kennedy, when it counted-before it began! He has been a sharp critic of the sweetheart contracts of corporate cronies at the expense of both Iraqis and American Taxpayer's.
