Denise Provost has served Somerville in many capacities over the last twenty years. She was Assistant City Solicitor for six years in the 1980s, during the Brune administration. She then spent a decade as a neighborhood activist, parent, and attorney in private practice. She was first elected to the Board of Aldermen in 1999.
Denise combines common sense and caring with her broad experience in municipal government. Her focus has been on promoting the economic development of the city in balance with the needs of its residential neighborhoods. She advocates tirelessly for Somerville before the agencies that prioritize and fund transportation projects.
Denise and her husband have raised their family in Ward 5. Their daughters attend Somerville Public Schools.
